Junior Infants Art and Crafts January - February 2017

The Junior Infants were learning all about homes in our locality and homes and houses around the world. They made a beautiful picture using a variety of different materials. They painted a Spring garden themed background onto cardboard before using patterned paper, matchsticks, buttons and various other craft items to create their houses. They really enjoyed the process and were very proud of their work.

The children also celebrated St.Brigid's day by making paper crosses and by learning about and responding to the story of St.Brigid's cloak.

They made cute Valentines owls saying 'Owl Always love you' as a gift for their families for Valentines day.

Congratulations to Grace in 3rd class who is a semi-finalist in this year's Doodle4Google competition. Her doodle will now go forward for judging to be included in this year's final of the competition.

Well done Grace!

6th Class Mud Roc Figures and Diormas

6h class used plaster of paris to cover pipe cleaner stick figures showing movement or action. The children painted them and then decided on a background diorama to suit their figure's particular movement.

6th Class Christmas Art

Children in 6th class enjoyed making Christmas Decorative popups. We used laminated colouring sheets, lollypop sticks and cotton wool.

Third class used Janet Ledger's "Christmas Tree in Trafalgar Square" and the poem "Twas the night before Christmas" to create art in many strands of the Visual Arts Curriculum...drawing, Paint & Colour, Fabric & Fibre and Clay.
