The Junior Infants have been taking part in an e-twinning project with children in Malta. The project is all about using bee-bots to retell and sequence stories. Our story for the month of February was 'Little Red Riding Hood'. We read the story and did some activities based on the story such as drama and art. We then used our bee-bots to retell and sequence thestory. We documented the activity and send pictures to our friends in Malta.

6th Class really enjoyed LEGO Robotix. This LEGO Education based workshop covered all of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subject. The children had the opportunity to become engineers, researchers, analysts, designers and more.

Students learned to take measurements, analyse data, make predictions, solve problems and design solutions. The children worked in teams to build and test their robot.

One group was picked, by the expert trainers, to compete with 30 other schools in Limerick, in the Robotix final in March.

Third class have been learning about animals and their habitats in Science and as part of that they learned about the Lifecycle of The Frog. They are now using this as a basis for their Lego WeDo 2.0 projects.

Pupils in second class have started weekly workshops in Lego WeDo 2.0. They have already built a cooling fan, a satellite and a security robot.

Pupils in 2nd class have had weekly Lego workshops for the past few months. Aside of working in teams and developing their hand/eye coordination and communication skills, they have constructed sensor robots, space probes and rotating robots through simple coding.
